Benefiting from the extendility of uArm’s base structure, we designed roller wheels which looks like tank tracks, and made it attached to the bottom of uArm. Equipped with these, uArm can move not only on the smooth floor but also on rough surface.
With this equipment, uArm can be used in many dangerous conditions in place of human, or evan in military, such as blastings, operations, going into nuclear radiation area and so on. Although the performance needs to be improved before using in real circumstance.
It`s very interesting for me. Do you like it?
Hi uFactory Folks,
I am one of the many original Kickstarter backers of the uArm, which I love. Do you have instructions, pseudo-instructions about making my own tank version? I am really, really hoping you do. I am CS student and would like to use this as a part of a project.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
We suggest you to buy a off-the-shelf tank suit – a mechanical body with two driving motors.
Then you can buy two drving boards to control the motors – you should pay attention to the interface of the driving board, which could be I/O, PWM, or UART etc.
If you have any further questions, please specify more details about your project (the task, the computer you use, …)
Hope our suggestions can help you.
